Q: What is VPK?
A: VPK stands for the Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program
Q: What are the advantages of VPK?
A: Voluntary Prekindergarten or VPK gives children a head start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. Children are more likely to be successful in school when they learn the skills they need to become strong readers and when they become students at an early age.
Q: Who is eligible to receive VPK?
A: If you live in Florida and have a child who turns 4 years of age by September 1, your child is eligible for Florida’s FREE VPK program
Q: What is included?
A: We offer 2 types of VPK programs: 1) School Year Program - includes 540 hours of instructional time and begins in August and 2) Summer Program - includes 300 instructional hours and begins May 1.
